Abir Kobeissi is a Lebanese female artist, architect, and art dealer/consultant, whose work reflects a deep exploration of sociological, economical, and political aspects through a multifaceted artistic practice.
Born and raised in Beirut, she obtained her first Diploma in 2011 from the Lebanese University Institute of Fine Arts and Architecture then she achieved her second Diploma in 2024 Germany from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
With a keen understanding of how art can be a powerful tool for addressing complex societal issues, her artistic practice delves into a range of economical and socio-political themes, offering nuanced perspectives that challenge conventional narratives and incite critical dialogue. Abir's work demonstrates a profound engagement with pressing social issues, shedding light on important topics through a lens of creativity and introspection. One of Abir's attributes is her versatility and mastery of various mediums and materials, including her own body as a means of artistic expression.
As a Lebanese herself with Lebanon’s known ancient trading history in her blood, besides her position as an academic assistant of Prof. Alexandra Pirici at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and besides her full dedication to her own oeuvres, Abir connects art enthusiasts and collectors with talented artists-young/emerging or renowned- and contributes to moving the wheel of the art market in her own circle that keeps on expanding, she now privately represents many artists who need her support when dealing with the economical and financial aspect of being in the art making industry.
She lives between Munich and Beirut.
