"Antonia Scintilla is a curator, cultural project manager, and the director of Fondation Pernod Ricard in Paris. She began her career in 2007 at the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow, followed by her work at PLATFORM—a network of regional contemporary art funds—in Paris in 2009. In 2010, she joined the Ricard Corporate Foundation as a Project Manager and has been leading the foundation as its director since 2023.
Founded in 1998, the Fondation Pernod Ricard has played an important role in shaping the French art scene, while presenting significant international contemporary positions alongside emerging artists. Through initiatives such as the annual Pernod Ricard Prize and the new art space Aperto, the foundation actively supports young talent as well as the local artistic community. Acting as a research laboratory, the Fondation collaborates closely with artists to explore ideas that challenge conventional forms and content. With weekly events including artist talks, lectures, and performances, Pernod Ricard has established itself as an important hub for artists both in France and internationally.
The talk will focus on the collaboration between artists and institutions, offering an inside look at the processes behind exhibition making at Pernod Ricard. Antonia Scintilla will share her experiences as a curator and director, highlighting how the foundation supports emerging artists. The workshop will also explore the role of spaces like Aperto in fostering experimentation and dialogue, as well as creating opportunities for young artists."
*The lecture will be held in English.
