Victoria Colmegna (Argentinian, born in 1986) lives and works in Buenos Aires. She studied Filmmaking in the University of Cinema in Argentina and graduated with a Masters in Fine Art from the Städelschule in Frankfurt in 2015. In her work Colmegna engages with the styles, dynamics and furniture that dominate closed systems; Cliques, schools and parties self-critically reflecting the making of the ‘young’ artist’s oeuvre as a self-abusive practice. The work is always overcurated, populous, somewhat apocryphal, underacknowledged. It‘s transpersonal; as in things done by many. By mixing, committing, hosting, inviting, ordering, demanding, asking and begging different things from different people, VC tries to find the the cipher for selfhood‘s unresolved dilemma: transpersonal agency.
