"The connections between contemporary dance and visual art are multifaceted. While dance frequently draws inspiration from the formal language of the visual arts, the visual arts increasingly turn towards performative experiences presented in museums and galleries. Against this backdrop, the International DANCE Festival Munich, in collaboration with the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München (Academy of Fine Arts Munich), has initiated a unique partnership: students from the classes of Alexandra Pirici (Performance) and Julian Rosefeldt (Media Art) have been invited to develop concepts for performative works through an open call.
The focus is on works centered around human bodies and their interrelationships. From the submitted concepts, a jury selected ten pieces to be realized as part of the festival. The presentations will take place in the exhibition spaces of two art museums: the Kunstbau at the Lenbachhaus and the Haus der Kunst.
Admission to all performances in this series is free of charge."
