Pieces under pressure
The Presskuchen tour offers artists the opportunity to develop structures and networks across various cities. It uses the gesture of staging and the structure of the stage itself, highlighting and doubling the staged nature of exhibiting. Proceeding from the idea of bringing individual positions together that have been developed over the years, without having to subordinate them to a specific theme. The tour travels through the cities of Leipzig, Berlin, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Munich, Graz, and Vienna.
Born out of a shared frustration with the purpose-oriented art scene and the desire for added value within the art business, Arvid Jansen and Oliver Bleckmann concentrate on finding and developing formats for young artists that circumvent these tendencies. Understanding and describing the conventions of artistic production and it’s representation in conventional exhibition spaces is part of the motivation, the Presskuchen tour;
Last year from Leipzig to Graz and this year from Amsterdam to Cologne, from Cologne to Munich and from Munich to Vienna.
