Nikhil Vettukattil will present a lecture on his artistic practice as part of the Institute for Scene Experiments, entitled "Protest is when I say I don't like this. Resistance is when I put an end to what I don't like". The Institute for Scene Experiments is a fictional institution devoted to the investigation, production and dissemination of scenes, a situation for exchanging knowledge around different technical aspects of filmmaking and performance.
NIKHIL VETTUKATTIL (b. 1990, Bengaluru, India) Artist and writer who lives and works in Oslo.
Using a range of media such as sound, installation, performance, text, sculpture, and video, his practice questions modes of representation and image-making processes in their relation to lived experience and historical context. He has previously exhibited at venues such as the National Museum of Norway (2022), Kunsthall Oslo (2022), K-U-K, Trondheim (2021), CAPC, Bordeaux (2021), Art Hub Copenhagen (2021), K4 Galleri, Oslo (2021), Louise Dany, Oslo (2020), EKA Gallery, Tallinn (2020), Kristiansand Kunsthall (2020), and Le Bourgeois, London (2019). Forthcoming projects include AdBK (Klasse Widmann), Munich (2022), KW Institute, Berlin (2022), Camden Arts Centre (2023), Tromsø Kunstforening (2023) and FELIX GAUDLITZ, Vienna (2023). He is a member of the art collectives Tenthaus and Carrie, as well as a part of Atelier Kunstnerforbundet (2021-2023). As a member of Tenthaus he will co-curate MOMENTUM 12 Biennial in Moss opening in June next year.
